Shoubra Faculty of Engineering, Benha University, is a pioneer in adopting initiatives aimed at refining students’ skills and channeling their creative energies toward tangible achievements. Within this framework, the Innovation and Creativity Unit stands out as a central initiative with clear objectives, seeking to transform students’ ideas into real, valuable projects.
Unit’s Vision and Goals
The unit was established with the primary goal of encouraging students to think creatively and innovatively while providing a supportive environment to develop their engineering ideas and projects. These projects range from research concepts to practical applications that can be implemented in real-world settings.
The core vision of the unit is to go beyond the traditional role of academic education. Students are not only expected to study the curriculum but also to develop innovative solutions for contemporary engineering and technological challenges. The unit also aims to enhance students’ research, development, and teamwork skills, which are essential for today’s job market.
Key Objectives of the Unit:
-
Supporting Student Innovation Projects: Providing technical and logistical support for student ideas and projects.
-
Organizing Workshops and Technical Training: Hosting specialized training programs and workshops to enhance students’ technical and creative skills.
-
Linking Academic Knowledge with Practical Application and the Job Market: Bridging the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for real-world needs through hands-on projects.
CISU SHOUBRA – Innovation and Creativity Digital Platform
To achieve its goals, the unit launched the Innovation and Creativity digital platform (CISU SHOUBRA). This platform serves as a digital hub for all unit activities and initiatives, allowing students to track events and opportunities. It also encourages students to actively participate in competitions and technological exhibitions, helping showcase their talents and develop their capabilities.
Future Impact
The unit’s true role is to create a stimulating environment for innovation, where students can experiment, develop their ideas, and learn from the experience. Over time, these activities foster a culture of innovation within the faculty, motivating more students to pursue new projects and ideas.
The unit is managed by a dedicated team of faculty members and specialists at Shoubra Faculty of Engineering, who continuously work to develop initiatives and activities. Ultimately, the highest goal of the Innovation and Creativity Unit goes beyond organizing activities; it aims to create a real environment that helps students turn their ideas into projects, and their projects into impactful achievements.
