President of Benha University Receives National Authority for Quality Assurance Team for Institutional Accreditation of Shoubra Faculty of Engineering

Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, welcomed the external review team for institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), chaired by Dr. Abdelmonem Abdelbary Abdelqawy, to review and evaluate Shoubra Faculty of Engineering for institutional accreditation.

The reception was attended by:

  • Eng. Ayman El-Shebaby, Governor of Damietta

  • Prof. Dr. Gamal El-Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha Private University

  • Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research

  • Prof. Dr. El-Sayed El-Qady, former President of Benha University

  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Abdelghaffar, Dean of Shoubra Faculty of Engineering

  • Prof. Dr. Osama Kamal, former Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development

  • Prof. Dr. Shaaban Taha, former Vice President

  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ghanem, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center

  • Prof. Dr. Ahmed Attia, Director of the Faculty’s Quality Assurance Unit

  • Institutional accreditation coordinators

The review committee also included Prof. Dr. Amr Mohamed El-Sayed and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim.

Dr. El-Gizawy emphasized Benha University’s commitment to forming partnerships with civil society institutions across various fields, providing scholarships for students and graduates, and maintaining continuous engagement with community stakeholders through regular employment forums and joint training programs. These efforts aim to enhance practical skills, support educational development, and align with quality standards to improve the university’s institutional and academic reputation. He highlighted the national role of Shoubra Faculty of Engineering in providing engineering consultancy services.

He added that the university administration has provided all necessary resources for faculties and programs seeking accreditation from NAQAAE, noting that Shoubra Faculty of Engineering is advancing toward institutional accreditation after obtaining accreditation for all its academic programs. The university remains committed to applying quality standards across all faculties and programs.

Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady stated that Shoubra Faculty of Engineering has prepared its accreditation file after fulfilling all required practices and activities, with the university providing full technical support and following up on development plans to achieve accreditation for all faculties and programs.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ghanem explained that the external review team will visit the faculty to examine practical practices, activities, and accreditation documents, and conduct interviews with faculty leadership, program leaders, faculty members, students, administrative staff, alumni, and community stakeholders. The visit will also include inspections of infrastructure, laboratories, workshops, and classrooms.

The external review visit for Shoubra Faculty of Engineering by NAQAAE will continue until February 16, 2026.

Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra Wins First and Third Places in Benha University Healthcare Hackathon

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Abdelghaffar, Dean of Shoubra Faculty of Engineering – Benha University, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the students for winning first and third places in the hackathon titled “Smart Healthcare – Innovating the Future of Healthcare”, organized by Benha University in collaboration with the Information Technology Institute (ITI).

? First Place – Telemedicine Track
Achieved by the project Smart Pharmacy System by the AutoPharma team under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud El-Semanti. The system is a smart pharmacy solution for automating medicine dispensing using industrial control technologies, ensuring accuracy, reducing errors, and increasing operational efficiency.

? Third Place – Mental Health & Wellness Track
Achieved by the project Jwar under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed. Jwar is a psychological support application based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), offering practical tools to regulate emotions while fully preserving user privacy.

The Dean emphasized that this achievement reflects the excellence of Shoubra Engineering students and their leadership in leveraging technology for community service. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Salah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, also praised the students’ outstanding performance.

This success comes as part of the efforts by the Faculty’s Innovation and Creativity Unit, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Aya Hossam El-Din Mahmoud, which continues to empower students and transform their ideas into promising practical projects.

Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra Participates in “Made at Benha University” Exhibition

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Abdelghaffar – Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Islam Nazmy – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Shoubra Faculty of Engineering participated in the “Made at Benha University” exhibition held on February 10, 2026, showcasing the faculty’s engineering manufacturing outputs.

The exhibition featured applied engineering manufacturing outputs from the faculty’s departments and programs, including items produced through student projects, research projects, startups, and development and innovation support projects from the Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education. The display also highlighted the primary function of each manufactured output and its alignment with the principles of sustainable manufacturing.
